Designed By You was created to allow you the opportunity to get together with your friends and family for a fun-filled time, creating unique pieces of jewelry that will be treasured for years to come. We average 10 to 15 people per party. Special arrangements can be made for larger groups/events, and special pricing is available for younger groups.

Your Booking Date

Before scheduling your party, consider holidays, vacations, your family’s schedule, your friends’ schedules and the best time of the day or evening for the majority of your friends and family members. Book your date as soon as possible to ensure a date that is really optimal for you.

Guest List

Two weeks before your party, your Design Consultant will need you to email her your guest list with addresses. You will need to specify the date, time and address of the party. She will also need you to clarify an RSVP phone number.

RSVPs

If you have not received a clear count of how many people will be attending by two days before your party, it is best to contact those who have not called in their response to see how many to expect. Call or email your Design Consultant two days before your party to let her know how many are expected. This will ensure that she brings everything needed to accommodate all of your guests.

The Party

Your consultant arrives 30 minutes early to set up. Your party proceeds when you feel that most everyone has arrived. It starts with an introduction and a “thank you” for having us all in your home. There is a brief outline of Designed By You and the items you need to be familiar with for jewelry making. While you and your friends are designing your jewelry, our consultant will be on hand to help with questions and advice. As your guests finish their jewelry, your consultant will write up sales receipts, add notes on how they want their jewelry finished, receive in the money, and then bag it up with the sales receipt for completion.

Closing Out your Party

The standard hostess promotion is 10% of the total party sales plus $5.00 per person for each booking. This amount will be the credit each hostess receives toward the jewelry she makes the night of her party.  Our hostess’s order is worked up last. A tally of sales slips (including the hostess’s) produces the total sales figure. 10% plus $5 for each booking is then removed from the hostess’s sales order. If there is still a balance, the consultant receives in the money. All is packed up by your consultant, a completion date is approximated, and she leaves for the night. The Jewelry

All of the jewelry will be finished as soon as possible and sent out to you in the mail or hand delivered to your home. We are more than happy to send items out directly to your guests if they live farther away. These arrangements must be made when the sales slip is being written up. After the party but before leaving for home, our consultants usually let their hostess know when to expect the finished jewelry to arrive.
